Text Neck is an overuse syndrome that involves the neck, shoulders and head.

The usual cause is the constant downward head posture from looking at a phone (or computer) for hours on end.

The result can be stiffness, neck, arm and shoulder pain, upper back pain and headaches.

In the US alone, the average person spends over 4 hours on their phone per day! That’s a lot of stress on your neck! Making things worse, every inch your head tilts forward causes an additional 10 lbs of weight that will put further pressure on the spinal joints and muscles of the cervical spine.

It’s well documented that poor posture and spinal misalignment can cause not only spinal pain, but also can lead to degenerative changes in the spinal joints.

The chiropractic approach is to address the spinal pain and dysfunction with specific chiropractic adjustments. Other therapies, such as therapeutic stretching and strengthening exercises, deep muscle work and electric muscle stimulation may also be used. Each treatment is tailored to each patient.
